2026 Teacher Training and Posture Clinics
Teacher Training
Our teacher trainings are rooted in tradition, integrity, and lived practice. They are designed for students who feel called to deepen their relationship with yoga—whether or not they plan to teach.
At Maine Hatha, we don’t train instructors to perform or perfect a pose. We train practitioners to listen, observe, and guide—with respect for the body’s innate intelligence and the individual experience of each student.
Organic, Hands-On Learning
Rather than relying on rote memorization, charts, or rigid diagrams, our trainings are experiential, organic, and hands-on. Learning happens in the room, in the body, and in real time.
We walk through each posture together—exploring not just how to practice and teach it, but why. Students learn structure, intention, and variation, with thoughtful attention to modifications, injuries, and individual needs. This approach builds understanding rather than repetition, and confidence rather than performance.
Throughout the training, students are invited to teach short sections of class. This supported, incremental teaching practice helps establish presence, clarity, and an authentic voice—allowing confidence to develop naturally through experience.
Our goal is not to create scripted teachers, but grounded guides who can respond, adapt, and hold space with awareness, skill, and integrity.
Frequency: Once per month
Time Commitment: 2+ hours per session
Makeups: Makeup opportunities available for training participants
Posture Clinics
We work through the Bikram Method sequence sequentially, posture by posture, allowing time and attention for deep exploration rather than surface-level coverage. Each session functions both as part of the full teacher training and as a focused posture clinic.
This structure creates an accessible entry point for students who want to study specific postures without committing to the full training. Participants may choose to attend individual posture clinics to focus on a few poses in greater depth, with the option to continue into the full program if they feel called.
- Deepen understanding of specific postures
- Refine technique, awareness, and confidence
- Explore alignment, intention, and smart modifications
- Learn in a supportive, community-centered environment
