Our Class Styles

All of our classes at Maine Hatha Yoga are hot yoga—each style is taught in a heated room, with the temperature and intensity tailored to the class format.

Bikram Method

This is our signature class and the heart of Maine Hatha Yoga. Bikram Method follows the traditional 26 postures + 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room to safely warm the body, deepen flexibility, and build strength, balance, and focus.

We honor the lineage and transformative power of the poses—not Bikram the man. Modifications are encouraged, and teachers are invited to share their lived wisdom and experience, guiding students in a way that stays true to the heart and soul of the practice.

We offer several ways to experience this powerful series:

    90-Minute – The full, classic sequence with time to settle into each posture and your breath.
  • Express 60-Minute – A condensed version for days when you're short on time but still want the full-body benefits.
  • 90-Minute with Music – The classic sequence enhanced with a curated playlist to support rhythm, focus, and flow.

Heated Yin

Heated Yin is a slower, more meditative class that combines gentle heat with long, passive holds. Poses are typically held for several minutes, targeting deep connective tissues, joints, and fascia.

This class is ideal for:

  • Increasing flexibility and mobility
  • Releasing tension and stress
  • Balancing out more active hot yoga practices

You’ll leave feeling grounded, open, and deeply restored.

Baptiste Power Yoga

Baptiste Power Vinyasa is a strong, flowing hot yoga practice that links movement with breath. Expect a dynamic sequence designed to:

  • Build strength and stamina
  • Improve balance and focus
  • Ignite internal heat and detoxification

This class is energetic, uplifting, and perfect for students who enjoy a powerful, athletic practice in a heated room.

Circular Breakwork

Circular breathwork is a powerful guided breathing practice that can transform your physical, emotional, and energetic state. By intentionally regulating the breath, students often experience:

  • Release of stored stress and tension
  • Improved nervous system regulation
  • Emotional clarity and freedom
  • A sense of joy, expansion, and deep inner connection

Many describe a single session as feeling like “20 years of talk therapy—without saying a word,” as this modality helps release stored trauma through the body rather than the mind.

This offering is guided by Angela Weymouth, founder of Maine Hatha Yoga, who has spent decades studying consciousness, healing, and transformation. Her own journey through yoga and holistic healing informs her grounded and intuitive teaching approach.

Coming Soon: Hot Pilates

We’re excited to introduce Hot Pilates, a high-energy, low-impact class taught in a heated room. Hot Pilates combines classic Pilates principles with dynamic movement to:

  • Strengthen core, glutes, and stabilizing muscles
  • Improve posture and support healthy alignment
  • Boost endurance and overall conditioning
